Bankroll Management Tips From An Orgy Guy

There are two types of orgies: desperate orgies and quality orgies.

Desperate Orgies

Desperate orgies are where couples in their 40s and 50s go to a party where they have a fishbowl full of condoms and a selection of flavored lube (ugh).

Quality Orgies

Quality orgies are orgies in the minimal sense of the word: one is sad, two is intercourse, three is a threesome, and four or more is an orgy. My orgies rarely get to five people and I’ve never had a seven-person orgy, but what I have had is quality. My secret? If you meet enough women, eventually you’ll find three or more who would be down with having sex with you and each other.

You meet women, essentially, by meeting women. I realize that that sounds circular, but women are attracted to a man who other women are attracted to. In fact, to attract women it’s more important to know how to keep the women you have.

Poker Orgies?

Poker is much the same way. To be able to attract more money (by way of higher limits), you need to be able to maintain your bankroll. It’s well known that some of the great poker players have gone broke because they were playing too high of stakes for their bankroll, or too fast for their hands, or too often to recharge. Being able to sustain a bankroll is mostly an issue of discipline. Let’s look at some of the key components that you need to remember so that your bankroll can stay healthy:

Know Your Skill Level

If you’re thinking of taking a shot at higher levels, remember that higher stakes generally brings in better players, usually by a factor of how many levels you are jumping stakes. The game could be much tougher than you would expect. A good way to make a reality check on your skill is how long you’ve been winning at the stakes you’re playing; six days is a streak, but six months is great play.

Do The Math

Don’t consider risking an inordinate percentage (like, say, a third) on a single game for whatever reason. It’s still a game of chance, and you would still have a chance at shooting yourself square at in the foot.

Track Your Progress

There are a lot of great options in tracking software for online players, or you could effectively make a database of your own in a spreadsheet program. Keep track of limits and stakes, your time at the tables, and profits (or losses). Make sure to review your information every few weeks - if you’re doing well at a certain level over a long period of time, you can probably move up to another level.

Know Where Your Money’s Going

By keeping an eye on your play habits - for better or for worse - and your bankroll, you can maintain and grow gradually without risk of going broke. You might also want to reconsider all of that erotic massage oil. Quality orgies don’t need oil.

Editors note: another good way for beginners to learn how to manage your bankroll is to play for “play money” - but play seriously. At bodog they have various levels of buy-in, so you have to succeed and essentially save up your money to progress to the next level. You should try it, it’s free poker and lets you figure out the software while you learn. BUT, you have to be methodical and don’t succumb to all the dumb asses going all in on every hand. (Although it can be fun when you’re drunk - but that’s a different topic altogether).
