Often times, poker is a family affair. Proficiency in the game has been passed down through generations and diffused between siblings. The Brunsons, the Lederers, and… The Greensteins?
Joe Sebok is the stepson of poker pro and gambling philanthropist, Barry Greenstein. And though he may not be a blood relative, Sebok certainly takes a cue from Greenstein’s outstanding play. Sebok and Greenstein have a close relationship that generated the cutesy nicknames “Bear” and “The Cub,” because Joe used the former as a shortened moniker for his stepdad and the latter because the poker community loves continuity.

Sebok began his professional career in 2005 and in three years has earned more that $1.7 million in tournament winnings. But aside from inspired playing, Sebok is the cofounder of PokerRoad.com, a GreenBok Production, which is a joint venture between - surprise, surprise - Greenstein and Sebok. This multimedia frenzy supplies poker centered and themed radio, video, and print products. While Sebok is the active President to PokerRoad.com, he also co-hosts PokerRoad Radio and was a past host to The Circuit, a Card Player Magazine podcast.
When he’s not playing poker, cornering the market on the poker audience, or playing drums in his San Francisco band, evidence indicates that Sebok spends his time fleecing his best friend Gavin Smith in a series of prop bets.

Forget about entrepreneurial adventuring. If inhaling fajitas and kicks to the face aren’t serious business, I don’t know what is.
