How a company’s website looks, feels and works can be a key factor in a buying decision. A professionally built website embodies a sense of trust - that these guys know what they’re doing and are willing to invest some money into it.
Visual Design - is it nice to look at?
Full Tilt’s website is somewhat ordinary looking, unlike their beautiful advertising. What it does have is the classic poker table green felt as a background, which lets you know right away it’s a poker site.
The homepage is nicely laid out with everything in clear view; promotions, links to the pro team and of course a big red shiny download button. The navigation is clear and simple, with nice drop-down menu layers that take you where you want to go easily and quickly.
Once you get into the Team Full Tilt pages, it starts to pick up again, showcasing the impressive roster of Professionals and showing off the beautiful photography that they are famed for.
Content
There is a significant amount of information about the pros; including links to each pro’s official website, more photos, videos and commercials.
With stars come interesting stories and Chris Ferguson is a great example. His page tells of how he can throw a playing card 10 feet to cut a carrot in half. Pretty impressive.
Usability
If you haven’t heard the term before, usability quite simply refers to how “usable” or how easy to use a website or product is. Here Full Tilt have gone for simplicity. All of the important features are covered in the main navigation. When you get deeper into the site - your location is clearly marked in the left column, allowing you to understand how the site is put together and to move around easily.
Conclusion
Full Tilt have done a professional job that works well. I’d love to see the whole site reflect the sexy advertising a little more, but fundamentally things are as they should be. 8/10
