Bertrand Grospellier, while waiting for the EPT Grand Final event in Monte Carlo to start, registered for 62 turbo-style SNGs, each for $6.50. As they came up, he spread the games out among four screens, and played 30 tables frantically at the peak of the excitement.

Bertrand Grospellier sets a new world record for the most simultaneous Sit N Go's
Straight up, whenever I write a review of a poker bonus where I’m including calculations for how long it will take you to get a bonus by playing in six sit-n-gos at a time, I’m secretly thinking that you would either have to be a caffeine junkie or have a pokerbot (which I would never advocate) to be able to pull it off and not lose. I personally peak at a nice, leisurely two tables or so (at the highest possible limits, please). But on April 30th, my entire world crashed down on me.
New Sit ‘n’ Go World Record
To set a world record for most SNGs played in an hour, Grospellier had to turn a profit on his $403 dollar investment. And even though the $23.67 he made in profit isn’t a great return on investment, the World Record for most SNGs played in an hour is probably an OK consolation prize.

Bertrand Grospellier using some serious A.D.D. on his way to the world record
For his achievements, I’ll make it a point only to refer to him as ‘Wal-Bert’ whenever I see him, in honor of his achievements in using the business model of the multinational retailer of a slightly different name. Where Wal-Mart promises “Low Prices, Always” and turns a profit by squeezing the margin out of their sales, Grospellier has succeeded in squeezing the value out of every precious hand in that frantic hour to make a modest profit, but with substantial honors.
To put it in contrast, if Grospellier wanted to go for the big deal $5,000 Hollywood Poker bonus and played only sessions of 62 SNGs in an hour (at $0.50 entry fee) it would take him less than 65 hours to make that bonus. That’s just a little less than the 90 days allotted.
Congrats, Bertrand!
