Red hot Vanessa Rousso is a bit of an overachiever. She had an exceptional childhood growing up in France and living there until the age of ten, which lead to an exceptional academic pursuit. Vanessa was valedictorian in high school and graduated early from Duke University after only two and a half years with a double major in political sciences and economics before going on to get a full-ride scholarship into the law school at University of Miami.

Her fascination with economics - in particular, game theory - lead her to pursue even harder her lifelong passion for games like poker and chess. Although she had been playing since the age of five, Vanessa Rousso really only got serious about poker during her summer break in law school. In that first year, she made it in the money in many tournaments, including taking 7th at the 2006 WPT championship event and 8th at the WSOP No Limit Shorthanded Hold ‘em event which, at the time, made her the youngest woman to reach the top ten players in a WSOP event.
And while she doesn’t hold that distinction anymore, her achievements aren’t waning by any means. In the 2009 NBC National Heads-Up Championship, Vanessa made it to the finals, having defeated poker icons like Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negraneau, and Phil Ivey. As of 2009, her tournament winnings exceed $1.1 Million, which is justification enough for her association with Team Pokerstars.

And though she’s at the top of her class and the top of poker competition, she doesn’t limit herself to endeavors that only exercise the mind. A self-described adrenaline junkie, Vanessa Rousso indulges in sky diving, skiing, and bungee jumping in what she generously refers to as free time. All of that exercise is good for her career, as is evident by her appearance in the 2009 Swimsuit Edition of Sports Illustrated and her new position as spokesperson for GoDaddy.com.

Wikked photo. She looks cuter with a cap on tho. But those are some smokin abs.
She’s definitely one of the more interesting new players. At least that’s how the advertising portrays her - with the bungee jumping and all that. But then I’ve been bungee jumping before - wasn’t that hard after 4 beers.
Keep em comin boys..
Oh, and how about some real poker talk. I love the girls but I’d like to learn something and your first 2 poker lessons were intersting but I find them a bit confusing.
In poker it is mandatory to bluff, but you also have to be completely honest with yourself. If you don’t see yourself clearly, and recognize how others see you then you will never win, in poker or in life for that matter.
Anyone have the faintest idea what daidamita is talking about? maybe he posted on the wrong post. Should’ve been posted on a forum or post talking about “BLUFFING”, right?
Wow, am I flaming this poor guy - that’s not good - I’m nicer than that.
Piece offering, I’ll buy a Big Mac for you next time you leave a post in an irrelevant place. LOL
